Growing up, I went through the motions of school picture days, and sport picture days, and always had a camera with me on class field trips. But when I went off to college and graduate school all the prints were packed in a box, forgotten about, and sitting there waiting. When I moved into my own place, and tore the tape off the box almost 15 years later, history was staring me in the face. Memories were renewed, emotions felt again, and looking through the prints I sensed something lacking. Creativity!

It's why I now love to photograph families, their milestones, and make things unique and different. You and your family should feel excitement looking at your artwork. It should be the topic of conversation when a guest walks in your home. It should draw attention to itself just by being there. Does your family photos do this now?

My mom taught me two great things. Give what you can for others to do great work, AND be a person who does great work. That is why I support so many charities with 2 campaigns a year, as well as many silent auctions in the local area. Those who give their time and money deserve to have amazing artwork that they can pass down to their children. "This great family portrait we won in an auction supporting our favorite charity, and now I want you to hang this in your new home".
